Sitting Buddha, The sitting Buddha is made of river stone, a stone similar to granite. This stone is harder than the basanite stone we are used to and can therefore be worked more precisely and in greater detail. Only a few artists have the skills to work this stone into a highlight. Abhaya: Abhaya in Sanskrit means fearlessness. Thus this mudra symbolizes protection, peace, and the dispelling of year. It is made with the right hand raised to shoulder height, the arm crooked, the palm of the hand facing outward, and the fingers upright and joined. The left hand hangs down at the side of the body.
