Description
Buddha, sitting in Japanese style, on base, cast from lava stone. This special miniature Buddha from our Yogya collection is made of concrete and earthenware in the so-called dry casting process. This process uses very little liquid, which gives the figure its characteristic rough surface similar to that of a natural stone. After the usual steps of the casting process, the contours of the sculpture are reworked and refined by hand. The Buddha figure sits raised on a pedestal with both hands resting loosely in the lap, one hand resting on the other, palms facing upwards: This hand position symbolises meditation (Dhyana mudra). All cast stone sculptures are absolutely frost-proof and can be placed outdoors all year round.
