Description
Buddha, sitting in Japanese style, on base, approx. 19 cm high, cast from lava stone. This special Buddha from our Yogya collection is made of concrete and earthenware in the so-called dry casting process. This process uses very little liquid, which gives the figure its characteristic rough surface similar to that of a natural stone. After the usual steps of the casting process, the contours of the sculpture are reworked and refined by hand. The Buddha figure sits raised on a pedestal with both hands resting loosely in the lap, one hand resting on the other, palms facing upwards: This hand position symbolises meditation (Dhyana mudra). All cast stone sculptures are absolutely frost-proof and can be placed outdoors all year round.
